Welcome to the Desert — The Perfect Vacation Destination in a Stunning Setting...
With an average of 350+ days of sunshine — it is almost always the perfect day for golf, tennis, cycling, hiking, sightseeing or relaxing by the pool. What was once a valley of sleepy villages has now become one of the nations’ most popular golf and vacation destinations. While the desert has changed over the years, one thing remains the same, our magnificent clear blue sky and the mild winter climate. Experience what has drawn Presidents, Celebrities, and the Rich & Famous to the Palm Springs desert for decades.
The Waldorf Astoria La Quinta Resort and Club, where at the dawn of Hollywood’s Golden Age, Greta Garbo, Clark Gable and other screen legends escaped from the limelight by retreating to this lush hideaway, is within walking distance of our properties at Legacy Villas Resort.
Golf in the Desert — With over 100 renowned golf courses and more than 300 days of sunshine each year, Greater Palm Springs earns its reputation as atop destination for golf. Ranked in the Top 50 Municipal Golf Courses in the United States, Indian Wells Golf Resort, SilverRock Resort and Desert Willow Golf Resort are all within minutes of our Legacy Villas Resort and Mountain Cove properties. Area courses offer play at all challenge levels, whether you’re looking for a casual round or demanding greens. Designs by legendary architects like Tom Weiskopf, Arnold Palmer, Pete Dye, Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman are a major draw, as are the gorgeous mountain backdrops against lushly manicured courses.
Shopping in Greater Palm Springs — Whether you want to shop high-end designers, unique local boutiques, or vintage venues, Greater Palm Springs has plenty of options. Our properties are located a short distance from some of the best shopping in the country — El Paseo, the desert's own "Rodeo Drive," and Old Town La Quinta, a chic outdoor shopping and dining village with sophisticated boutiques and curated fashion, delicious dining and exciting nightlife, wine tastings, art shows, live weekend music and seasonal events.
Dining in La Quinta/Indian Wells — The Greater Palm Springs area has over 150 restaurants to satisfy every mood and palate. White linens and fine dining are a longstanding tradition in Palm Springs, thanks to the area’s history as a favorite destination for Hollywood celebrities. Want something more casual, but still delicious, they have that too!
Near our Legacy Villas Resort properties — The Waldorf Astoria La Quinta Resort and Club offers 7 fabulous restaurant choices (Morgan's in the Desert, Twenty6, Adobe Grill, Centre Court Cafe, MD Grill, Ernie's and Wallaby's West). Within walking distance of our properties at Mountain Cove, we highly recommend La Quinta CliffHouse Grill & Bar for great food with an amazing view. We enjoy eating tapas-style with appetizers at the bar. Also, La Quinta Baking Company is one of our favorites for casual French cuisine - for breakfast, start with an espresso drink and try their Phil Mickelson Benedict; it's delicious! For fine dining, La Brasserie Bistro & Bar is nearby and consistently good. Or, head over to El Paseo or Old Town La Quinta where incredible dining choices abound.
Here's to a lovely vacation in the desert!
